Shrimps snap up Cresswell

Morecambe have signed Sheffield United youngster Ryan Cresswell on a month's loan.

The 19-year-old utility player recently returned to Bramall Lane following a similar loan spell at the Shrimps' League Two rivals Rotherham United.

The defender or midfielder made a substitute appearance for the Millers against Morecambe last month.

"He comes recommended by both (Sheffield United boss) Bryan Robson and (assistant) Brian Kidd and I am pleased to have got him on board," said manager Sammy McIlroy.
