Shrimps re-sign Drummond

Morecambe have re-signed former midfielder Stewart Drummond from Shrewsbury Town.

The 32-year-old former Shrimps star has returned to Christie Park on a two-and-a-half year contract after the two clubs agreed a £15,000 deal.

Drummond made over 200 appearances during ten years with the Shrimps before leaving to join Chester in 2004.

"Stewart is a player I know well and respect. He is a very experienced player at League Two level and will be a great addition to the squad," manager Sammy McIlroy told the club's official website.

"He is a box-to-box player and is a presence in both penalty areas.

"We are looking to have a blend of experience and youth as we seek to establish ourselves in the league and I am delighted to have signed him."
