Shrimps quash Duffy rumours

Morecambe have rejected claims made by Southport that they will complete the signing of Mark Duffy this week.

The Sandgrounders striker has been linked with a switch to Christie Park for several weeks, but no deal can be completed while the League Two side continue to be hampered by a transfer embargo.

Morecambe's vice-chairman Graham Hodgson told the Shrimps' official website: "The embargo relates to all signings, be they transfers or loan deals so Mark will not be joining us on Monday.

"We're having talks and are looking at ways to get the embargo lifted but those talks are ongoing at the moment.''
