Shrimps fail to land Duffy

Morecambe have failed in a last-gasp bid to sign Southport winger Mark Duffy.

A deal had been agreed between the two clubs before the transfer window closed on Monday but vital pieces of paperwork were not submitted on time.

The Shrimps would have been allowed to bring Duffy to Christie Park under the stipulations of the transfer embargo they are currently working under after releasing Paul Lloyd, Michael Carr and Ryan McCann recently.

Duffy has been a long-term target of boss Sammy McIlroy who is attempting to lift Morecambe away from the relegation zone.
