Shrimps fail in keeper bid

Morecambe have failed in a bid to keep on-loan goalkeeper Joe Lewis at the club until the end of the season. The Shrimps approached Norwich City with a view to retaining the 20-year-old until the end of their League Two campaign, but Norwich manager Glenn Roeder is keen for Lewis to return to Carrow Road. "Norwich have had a couple of injuries and Glenn wants to have a look at Joe in action," manager Sammy McIlroy told the Lancashire Evening Post. "It is a big disappointment because Joe has done exceptionally well for us. "I have no doubt that Joe has a big future in the game and he will play at the very top."
