Shrimps chief hails midfielder

The popular attacking midfielder, who began his career at Manchester United, was released after 230 games with the Shrimps. Hodgson said: "Michael has been a superb servant to Morecambe. "He came to us and asked if he'd be allowed to leave before the end of the season and after discussing the matter with him and Sammy McIlroy we agreed to his request."
