After seeing a late Paul Mullin header earn his side a second successive League Two win, McIlroy praised his team's effort and determination. He said: "We showed great character to come from behind twice and I'm really pleased for the lads. They battled all the way to the end to win a great game of football and I am proud of them. "We've had a bit of a bad run lately, but two wins in a row puts us back among the chasing teams again and gives us a real platform to build on. "We hit the woodwork twice and I thought it was going to be one of those days, but we kept going right to the death and we got our just reward and I don't think anyone could say we didn't deserve to win."
