Shrimps boss hails striker Twiss

Published: 18 Feb 2009 - 15:17:37

Will Buckley had put Dale ahead on 50 minutes in Tuesday's League Two clash at Spotland when he fired in the bottom right corner from twelve yards. It looked as though the home side would increase their lead, but Shrimps keeper Barry Roche made some fine saves to keep his side in the game, making way for former Manchester United trainee Twiss to grab the equaliser in a 1-1 draw. "To get a draw here against Rochdale is a terrific result. They play good football and I hope they go get the promotion they deserve come the end of the season," said McIlroy. "The goal from Michael Twiss was a great effort. He's got a new lease of life and I hope he can keep that going. "He's got himself in great shape and kept going beyond the 90 minutes and provided a great finish."
