Peterborough United striker Rene Howe has agreed to join Morecambe on a season-long loan deal, while Carl Baker is set to leave the Shrimps and move to Stockport County.
Baker is heading to Edgeley Park in a deal that could eventually net Sammy McIlroy's side £225,000 and a sell-on clause has also been agreed between the two teams.
Morecambe's vice-chairman Graham Hodgson told the club's official website: "We've now agreed a fee for Carl with Stockport after turning down several bids which we didn't feel were acceptable.
"We're a club that never wants to stand in a player's way when the chance to progress his career is available, but, at the same time, we have to consider the best interests of the club on every occasion which we did here.
"We didn't want Carl to leave unless we had someone of quality to replace him in the squad and, with that in mind, we're delighted to have signed Rene Howe.
"He made a real mark on loan at Rochdale last season and he's chosen us ahead of a number of other clubs which is great news for us.''
