Morecambe have signed Huddersfield striker James Spencer on a six-month loan deal. The 18-year-old becomes the latest Terriers player to cross the Pennines and join up with Sammy McIlroy's men, after Phil Jevons and Ian Craney enjoyed spells with the Shrimps last season. Spencer has previously enjoyed a brief loan spell with Northwich Victoria and last term scored three times in 10 appearances for Huddersfield's second string. "Huddersfield have been great with us and I am looking forward to working with Jimmy," Morecambe assistant boss Mark Lillis told the club's official website. "I saw him a couple of times last year and he is a strong lad for his age who holds the ball up well. "He will certainly add to our squad and will learn a lot while he is here."
