Shots striker shoots down Shrimps

The striker was suspended as the Shots tumbled out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy against Hereford in midweek, but he started the rout after just 14 minutes. Craig Stanley's 47th-minute own-goal opened the floodgates with Kirk Hudson and Louis Soares completing the scoring for the Shots before Paul Mullin's late consolation. The home side took the lead with the first real attack of the match when Morgan combined with midfielder Scott Donnelly and fired under Morecambe keeper Scott Davies. The Shrimps should have hit back almost immediately through striker Mullin and were made to pay shortly after the restart when Morgan's teasing cross was turned in by Stanley. Striker Hudson pounced on some hesitant goalkeeping from Davies to slide the ball into an empty net in the 67th minute and Soares added a fourth 13 minutes later before Mullin's injury-time strike denied Aldershot their first clean sheet of the season.
