Sammy seeks keeper swoop

Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy is desperate to bring in a new goalkeeper on a permanent basis, despite the good form of loanee Scott Loach.

Watford youngster Loach has stepped into the gap left by Joe Lewis' return to Norwich City and subsequent move to Peterborough United, but McIlroy would like a more permanent arrangement.

He told The Visitor: "I've told the board we need our own keeper. Scott Loach has done well, but he's not ours.

"I spoke to another keeper before the Joe Lewis situation was sorted out and we'll look at that again now.

"I've spoken to a couple of the players I want and they are keen to come, so I hope we can bring them in quickly."
