Sam ready for Shrews challenge

Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy has said his side are fully prepared to take on a talented Shrewsbury team on Saturday, knowing a win is needed to keep up with the pace.

The Shrimps are ten points behind the play-off places and seven points adrift of the Shrews but, after beating Barnet 2-1 last weekend, have now not lost for 11 games.

"We know Shrewsbury will be difficult. They've spent a lot of money and are in the play-offs. It'll be a big test but we can't go into the game any better prepared," said McIlroy.

"We know we're going to have to be at our best to get something from the game but the lads are full of confidence at the moment.

"There'll be a big crowd and a big atmosphere but we have a lot of strength and belief going into the game."
