Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy has snapped up the highly-rated Celtic youngster Diarmuid O'Carroll on a one-year deal.
The 21-year-old Killarney-born striker came through the Bhoys' youth academy and spent the second half of the 2006-07 campaign on loan at Ross County, scoring twice in 16 appearances for the Dingwall-based side.
McIlroy told the Shrimps' official website: "My former United team-mate Jimmy Nicholl really rates this boy and he is without doubt an exciting prospect.
"He's been scoring regularly for Celtic reserves for a while now and is keen to come and make his mark.
"He had a choice of a few clubs but he chose us and I'm really looking forward to seeing him link up with the rest of the lads."
