The Shrimps did not win any of their opening seven matches in a poor start to the season, but that is a distant memory after goals from Phil Jevons and Paul Mullin pushed lifted them up to 10th in the table after a 2-0 win at Port Vale.[LNB]McIlroy said: "We played good football early in the season but we were dreadful when we were not in possession.[LNB]"We've had to drive home to the players that they have to go and win the ball back when they lose it and, to their credit, they are doing that. They've really bumped up the workrate.[LNB]"This was another very good performance against a decent team. We got the tonic of going ahead in the first minute and you can sometimes score too early. But the players stuck at it and I couldn't ask anymore from them.[LNB]"I was very pleased with the way we defended again and we've caused Vale a lot of problems on the counter-attack."[LNB][LNB]
