Fleming boost for Shrimps

Andy Fleming will come back into Morecambe's ranks as they look to bounce back from their midweek derby thrashing when Northampton visit.

The midfielder completed a two-match suspension as the Shrimps were thumped 5-1 at Accrington, who they have still not beaten when the two have met in the Football League.

Boss Jim Bentley revealed this week that midfielder Stewart Drummond could miss the rest of the season after fracturing his toe.

Andy Parrish will also be absent after suffering a slight tear in his cruciate, although Bentley is hopeful that he could be back within two weeks. Full-back Shaun Beeley (hamstring) has returned to light training yet remains two weeks away from a comeback.

Northampton manager Chris Wilder could make changes after a first defeat in seven matches in midweek.

That may mean a first start for former Real Madrid B forward Cristian Lopez, who has made two substitute appearances since joining on loan from Huddersfield.

Defender Joe Widdowson has missed the last six games with an ankle problem and could miss out once more, while captain Lee Collins (foot) will not feature again this season.

On-loan centre-back Zander Diamond suffered a pelvis injury in the 3-0 loss to Rochdale but is expected to play as the Cobblers aim to close the gap with 22nd-placed Exeter.
