Devitt back for Shrimps

Morecambe welcome Jamie Devitt back into their fold for Newport's visit to the Globe Arena.

The on-loan midfielder, borrowed from Chesterfield, has completed a three-match suspension for his sending-off in the fiery ending to the 1-1 draw with Exeter last month.

Striker Jack Redshaw will be pushing for a starting berth after scoring the winner against Southend at the weekend - the Shrimps' first victory since Boxing Day. Redshaw had been struggling with what boss Jim Bentley termed a 'minor niggle' but showed fine fettle in netting after coming off the bench.

Defender Andy Parrish did not train at all last week and was an unused substitute against Southend because of a troublesome back complaint.

Newport will be forced into at least one change when they make the trip to Lancashire.

Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill confirmed goalkeeper Elliott Parish was back at Ashton Gate after his month-long loan stay with the Exiles which means injury absentees Lenny Pidgeley or Jamie Stephens will return to action against the Shrimps.

Boss Justin Edinburgh looks set to recall Max Porter having handed him a rest in the 2-1 defeat at Mansfield he could give striker Chris Zebroski a break having admitted last week that the pair need a break from playing 90 minutes.

Newport have not won in five matches to leave them with an uphill task if they are to gatecrash the play-offs.
