Morecambe wait on fitness news for Barry Roche, Tom Barkhuizen and Aaron Wildig

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley is sweating on the fitness of Barry Roche, Tom Barkhuizen and Aaron Wildig ahead of Exeter's trip to the Globe Arena.

Goalkeeper Roche was forced off in the 21st minute of the Shrimps' 1-0 victory over Dagenham & Redbridge with a back injury and missed Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Fleetwood.

Young shot-stopper Tony Thompson made his first start for the club in the midweek defeat and is in contention to deputise if Roche cannot return.

Barkhuizen was taken off in the second half against the Cod Army after suffering a dead leg, while Wildig took a knock, and the pair will be monitored.

Exeter manager Paul Tisdale is short on midfield options following their 2-0 win over Port Vale in the second round of the FA Cup.

Christian Ribeiro has been forced to go under the knife due to a knee problem, while David Noble (hamstring), Jamie McAllister (groin) and Danny Butterfield (knee) are out until Christmas.

Will Hoskins and Ryan Harley are likely to be out until the new year due to ankle and hip injuries respectively, leaving Tisdale short on numbers for Saturday's trip.

However, it is hoped Manny Oyeleke and Tom McCready will return to full fitness in time for the game, but they may have to settle for a place on the bench after an impressive display in the cup.
