Keeper Roche a fitness concern

Morecambe are sweating on the fitness of goalkeeper Barry Roche ahead of the npower League Two derby with Accrington.

Roche, who spent time on the sidelines a month ago with a back problem, suffered a leg injury during Saturday's 1-1 FA Cup first round draw against Rochdale.

If the 30-year-old Irishman is ruled out, former Preston keeper Andreas Arestidou is ready to deputise.

Elsewhere, Shrimps boss Jim Bentley will welcome back Jordan Mustoe and Richard Brodie.

On-loan Wigan full-back Mustoe was not made available by his parent club at the weekend, while ex-York striker Brodie - himself on loan from Crawley - has completed a three-match ban after being sent off in the closing stages of October's 1-0 home win over Southend.

Accrington manager Leam Richardson will assess the fitness of on-loan Rotherham midfielder Danny Schofield.

Schofield missed Saturday's FA Cup first-round victory over AFC Fylde through injury but is back in training and has a chance of facing the Shrimps.

Charlie Barnett ended his own spell on the sidelines with an ankle problem by appearing as a late substitute during the 4-1 weekend win and is in contention to feature once more.

The Reds' camp has been hit by a virus over recent days but none of the players affected are expected to miss out.

Having failed to find the net in 13 previous appearances this season, former Leeds youngster Will Hatfield scored all four Stanley goals on Saturday and will build on this form at the Globe Arena.

The game is Richardson's first league game since being named as Paul Cook's successor, although he masterminded a 1-0 victory against Bristol Rovers as caretaker boss 10 days ago.
