Spoils shared at Morecambe

Morecambe and Cheltenham produced an entertaining 0-0 draw at the Globe Arena.

Cheltenham, who had won their last three games in all competitions prior to the game, dominated the first half and squandered several good chances before Morecambe fought back and had the better of the second period but failed to beat Robins goalkeeper Trevor Carson.

Craig Braham-Barrett was a constant threat down the left for the visitors and worked an opening for himself on 17 minutes but was denied by Barry Roche, who spread himself well to save.

Steve Elliott and Matthew Taylor both headed over from left-wing corners before the visitors missed another fine chance on the stroke of half-time when Byron Harrison was left unmarked in the box but his final shot was well saved by Roche.

Morecambe's only effort of any note came on 33 minutes when Andy Fleming's shot from the edge of the area was easily gathered by Trevor Carson.

The Shrimps hit back in the second period with Jack Redshaw drilling an effort inches wide and substitute Paul Mullin going close on three occasions.

Carson saved well from a Kevin Ellison free-kick before Roche saved superbly at the death from a long-range Jason Taylor strike.
