McIlroy rues transfer embargo

The Shrimps were sanctioned by the Football League after spending more than 60% of their income on player wages. McIlroy may still be able to recruit this month if he offloads some of his current side but he admits the situation has proved a big hinderance thus far. He told the Morecambe Visitor: "It's a blow because I have been talking to a couple of players who I'm confident would come. "But they can't wait for me forever and time is crucial now. "I have had a few clubs showing interest in a couple of our players so there may still be some action, but from my part I can't really do what I'd like to do straight away."
