Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy has put pen to paper on a one-year extension to his existing contract.
The 54-year-old former Northern Ireland manager has been in charge of the Shrimps for three years and will now remain in the Christie Park hot-seat until at least the end of the 2009-10 season.
"This is a great club and we've had some wonderful times over the three years I've been here and, although we've had a difficult start this season, we can now plan for the future," McIlroy told the club's official website.
"We're still establishing ourselves in the Football League but the club has great potential.
"We're looking to move into a new ground and we have great supporters and a great board and we're all looking to progress together.
"It's tough being a manager but I'm delighted that I have a chairman and a board of directors who have shown great confidence in me and my staff.''
