Having seen three goals disallowed, never-say-die Morecambe stole all three points when centre-back David Artell was left unmarked to power home a downward far-post header in the 86th minute to convert a Garry Hunter corner. McIlroy said: "A lot of things go on at corners but my players said they were blameless, but we kept going and didn't panic and kept passing the ball around and got our just rewards when David Artell scored a fantastic goal. "The team is absolutely buzzing at the moment. I know it's an old cliche but it's a marathon not a sprint and to be where we are now, even with such a tough run-in, is great credit to the fantastic spirit in the side."
