Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy felt his his side deserved their point from the 0-0 draw at home to Rotherham.
The stalemate means the Shrimpers have just one point to their name after two games but McIlroy insists there is more to come from his players.
He said: "It would have been nice to have won and we had a couple of good chances but I thought the performance was excellent.
"We are still a pretty new side but some of the one touch football was superb at times.
"We can still do better in the final third of the field but things are gelling early this season."
