McIlroy slams second-half 'nightmare'

The Cobblers fought back from 2-1 down to win 4-2, and with just one win in 14 games now this season McIlroy said the pressure was now on his players to perform. "Some of the football we played in the first half was superb and 2-1 up at the break I thought we were going to go on and win the game," he said. "I told the lads to kick on and get the initiative but that didn't happen and the second half was an absolute nightmare. "But we were shocking in the second half and although I don't like to criticise individual units our defending let us down. We defended too deep and we were punished. "We just can't keep our performances to the level we are capable of for a full 90 minutes and we are paying for that week in week out and we have to do better."
