McIlroy slams Atwell performance
Bantams striker Gareth Evans was dismissed for a tackle on Morecambe goalkeeper Barry Roche on 77 minutes.
On Evans' red card, he said: "Barry (Roche) said the tackle by Evans was high and if it hadn't have been for his shinpads he could have broken his leg.
"But for me the referee then tried to even things up and denied us a clear penalty a minute later when Paul Mullin was brought down. I looked at Stuart McCall's face and it was clear he thought it was a penalty too but we were not going to get it after that decision.
"I was disappointed with the lack of quality we showed in the final third of the game but I can't be too critical of the lads.
"We had a patched up back four that performed magnificently and once again everyone gave their all."
