McIlroy pleased with Northwich outing
Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy is looking forward to Tuesday's friendly against Barrow after his side's practice match against Northwich.
The Shrimps played two 30-minute halves against the Vics at Lancaster University on Saturday, with Stewart Drummond on the scoresheet for the npower League Two outfit.
McIlroy said: "It was a good run-out for everyone. It was more about fitness than the result and everyone came through well.
"Northwich were young and eager and had a real go at us which was good because it was a really competitive hour and was a good warm-up for our game at Barrow on Tuesday."
