McIlroy furious after Brewers rout

Greg Pearson scored twice for the Brewers and was joined by Russell Penn, Shaun Harrad and John McGrath on the scoresheet. Ian Crainey and Phil Jevons responded for the Shrimps. McIlroy said: "I'm not shocked but I'm totally embarrassed. Their goals were so easy, I just couldn't come to terms with it and we've got to sort that out as soon as possible. "I'll take responsibility because I'm the manager but the players have got to look at themselves because that was just totally unacceptable and it can't continue. "It's no good being good going forward if you're going to concede five. I told them before the game to watch the first 20 minutes because there'd be an atmosphere here, for Burton's first home game in the Football League - and we were one down in three minutes. "For me, that's players not caring enough and I've told them that in no uncertain terms."
