McIlroy frustrated after cup exit

A fifth-minute strike from Joe Anyinsah was enough to give the Cumbrians the victory at Christie Park. However, despite the defeat, McIlroy was delighted with the work-rate of his side.[LNB]"I really can't fault the lads for their effort and commitment but there is no doubt that we needed more quality in front of goal," he said. "They gave me everything and we created great opportunities but we just didn't test their goalkeeper enough.[LNB]"That was disappointing because everything else about our play was excellent. In difficult conditions we moved the ball about well and created the openings, but we couldn't put them away and that has been our problem for much of the season.[LNB]"We didn't start well and they showed a bit of quality for the goal, but that was their only real chance and it has proved decisive.[LNB]"We all wanted to get into the second round to face Norwich. It was a great incentive but it just didn't happen for us."[LNB][LNB]
