McIlroy eyes defender
Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy is hoping to sign an experienced defender ahead of Saturday`s trip to Southend.
The Shrimps have agreed terms with the unnamed player and are aiming to seal the deal in time for the weekend.
McIlroy said "We have agreed terms with the player who I think would be an excellent person to have in the squad.
"There is some paperwork to complete but I am hoping that will finalised as soon as possible."
