McIlroy expecting points

Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy is confident that his side are not set for another poor start to the season. The Shrimps have made dire starts during the previous two campaigns and have so far collected just one point from two games this term. Yet McIlroy, whose men bundled Coventry out of the Carling Cup, believes the future is bright at the Globe Arena. He said: "We have had terrible starts the last two years but I am confident that that won't be the case this year. "We proved last year that it is a long season and the signs are pretty promising at the moment."
