Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy heaped praise on his side after they picked up their first League Two win at their new £12million stadium. McIlroy, who had earlier been sent to the stands by referee Dave Foster for an altercation on the touchline which involved Shrews boss Graham Turner, was delighted after Craig Stanley`s 83rd-minute header secured the Shrimps all three points at the Globe Arena. "It was a fantastic win against a good side and I am proud of all of the lads," said McIlroy, who saw Mark Duffy`s penalty saved by impressive Shrews stopper Chris Neal just before the hour mark. "It was important to get that win to get the monkey of our backs here. We have played well enough and should have won earlier but the longer you go without winning at a new ground the more nervous you can get. "We didn't start particularly well but after that I think we had much the better of the game and could have been three goals up by half-time had it not been for their goalkeeper. "When Mark Duffy missed a penalty in the second half you could see it affected us for a short time, but we carried on and I'm pleased for the lads and the supporters."
