McIlroy bemoans set-piece defending

Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy was bitterly disappointed with his side's showing after they went down 2-1 to Aldershot. Marvin Morgan's curling effort in the first half put the home side at arms length after Damian Spencer had broken the deadlock in the 27th minute. Scott Brown pulled one back for Morecambe but it was too little, too late. "We didn't perform at all," he said. "We had too many people off the pace, too many players didn't turn up. You can't come to places like this and play that way. "I'm sick of talking about set-pieces. It's so basic. It's not even a good ball in, whipped in with pace, the boy doesn't mark him and he scores an easy goal "In the second half we got into it a bit more, we scored a very good goal and I thought we were going to get something but we didn't have enough desire and that disappoints me. It's another slap in the face away from home and it`s very disappointing."
