McGuigan targeting League One

Morecambe, who are currently enjoying their second season in the Football League, have just come off the back of a 13-match unbeaten run and whilst Sammy McIlroy is shaping the football side, the club also plan to move into a new stadium. "In recent months we have grown as a club and our recent unbeaten run shows that we are learning fast," McGuigan told the club's official site. "We want to continue learning because our goal is to be a League 1 club. That is something that we won't achieve overnight, it will take a lot of hard work both on and off the field. "But the new stadium will give us the chance to put ourselves in a position to make the next step up."
