Mariners v Shrimps clash postponed

Referee Chris Sarginson decided to call off the fixture after a pitch inspection on Saturday morning. No new date has yet been confirmed for the fixture. Groundsman Mike Phillips told the club's official website: "This is probably one of the worst frosts I can remember. "We took some precautions and covered the pitch. The covers protect the pitch down to minus two but when I arrived on Saturday morning it was frozen under the protective covers. "We could have waited a while but I don't think the pitch would have thawed."
