Jimmy Ryan scored the winner in the 57th minute but Stanley dominated and could have gone on to increase the winning margin only to spurn several gilt-edged chances. A furious McIlroy said: "That was the worst performance since I have been here against Accrington and I am baffled why we are so inconsistent as we did so well against Chesterfield on Saturday. "We have got to realise we have a real fight on our hands in this league and we got what we deserved - nothing."
