Lillis launds Shrimps despite draw

A Phil Jevons brace, which sandwiched an Ian Craney strike, put Morecambe 3-0 ahead at half-time but Chris Dagnall, Joe Thompson and Dale Stephens hit back after the break to earn Dale a point. Lillis said: "Some of the football we produced and the goals we scored in the first half were different class. The link-up play was superb and we made a very good Rochdale side look very ordinary. "But an early second-half goal gave them a real boost and to their credit they really came at us. "We had a chance to make it 4-1 which we didn't take and that was costly but I have to give them credit because they gave it a real go and played some excellent stuff themselves in the second half."
