Lillis full of praise for charges

But Lillis admitted fortune favoured Morecambe. He said: "We showed great spirit again to come from behind against a very good side. We perhaps had a bit of luck with the incident where the ball may have crossed the line, but that's the way things go in football and we took advantage of the good fortune." Lillis also hailed the goalscoring form of on-loan Peterborough striker Rene Howe, who won the game with a stunning 75th-minute strike. He said: "It was a fantastic goal and showed just what the lad is capable of. I have never seen him hit a ball like that before because it was a screamer that gave the keeper no chance at all." The decision not to award the phantom Bantam strike definately rocked the visitors and they lost their composure as well as their grip on the game as Morecambe came back strongly. The Shrimps pulled one back in the 55th minute when midfielder Stewart Drummond raced into the box to head a cross from former Huddersfield man Danny Adams past Rhys Evans from 12 yards and the large band of travelling fans were stunned when Howe completed the Morecambe revival.
