Lillis keen to press on

Morecambe assistant manager Mark Lillis wants his side to move on from the defensive lapse that saw them fall at the first hurdle of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy against Macclesfield. Vinny Mukendi's solitary goal gave the home side a 1-0 victory - their first win of the season - as the teenager stole past the Morecambe defence in the 42nd minute to convert a Tyrone Barnett nod down with a powerful low drive. Despite the defeat at Moss Road, Lillis has urged his side not to dwell on the loss and press forward in League Two. "We played some good football but you've got to give credit to Macclesfield they have a right good go at you and for us it was a poor goal to concede but for them it was a good goal to score," said Lillis. "We let their forward have a free run at us after we'd given a free header away and we'll have to have a look at that. "We've made some poor defensive mistakes throughout the season but we can't dwell on them we've just got to move on and put the past behind us."
