Top scorer Jevons was once again their goal hero with his 16th of the season after 20 minutes with a sweet left-foot volley. The home side were denied what looked to be a clear penalty after Paul Mullin was bundled over in the box, but from that moment on the visitors dominated, creating the better of the chances. Marc Richards headed against the post and Barry Roche was forced to make smart saves from Lee Collins and Lewis Haldane. John McCombe thought he had scored an equaliser after 58 minutes, but saw his overhead kick disallowed for offside and Morecambe held on.
