February reward for McIlroy

Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy has been named as the League Two Manager of the Month for February.

The Shrimps played seven times in the league last month and were undefeated, winning four matches and drawing three.

McIlroy told his club's official website: "It's always a great honour for the club to get an award like this.

"The players and Mark Lillis deserve a huge amount of credit for the work they've put in. We've had a tough time with injuries, but the players have shown terrific spirit and determination.

"I'm very proud of everything they've done for the club in the past few weeks and we want to make sure we maintain the same level of performance until the end of the season."
