Edge heads to Shrimps

Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy has snapped up the former Blackpool goalkeeper Lewis Edge on a two-month contract.

The 21-year-old, who is the son of current Shrimps physio Dave Edge, has been signed on a short-term deal as Scott Davies is currently unavailable.

Edge was released by Blackpool at the end of last season after making only four first-team appearances for the Seasiders.

He was also loaned out to Rochdale, Bury and Northwich Victoria during his time at Bloomfield Road.
