Draw frustrates McIlroy

Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy was amazed that his side failed to beat Lincoln City on Tuesday.

The Shrimps had to settle for a point after Paul Green grabbed a late equaliser for the visitors with the result leaving McIlroy's side with only seven League Two victories this term.

The former Manchester United star said: "I can't believe we didn't win the game.

"We controlled it for long periods but couldn't find that second goal and that has unfortunately been the story of our season.

"We played some great stuff again but we didn't have that cutting edge and that's cost us dearly this season."
