Defender expresses McIlroy relief
Media speculation suggested Cork were eager to lure McIlroy to the Eircom League outfit, but Artell insists the move would have been the wrong decision.[LNB]"This last week has seen speculation about the gaffer going to Cork City," Artell told the Morecambe Visitor.[LNB]"I don't know much about the League of Ireland but I think it would have been a step backwards.[LNB]"It was a non-starter because the Chairman didn't allow Cork to speak to the gaffer and I'm not sure he would have wanted to go anyway.[LNB]"He's recently signed a contract extension and I'm sure he wants to take Morecambe Football Club even further."[LNB][LNB]
