Morecambe goalkeeper Scott Davies is eager to agree a new contract at Christie Park, having become first-choice for the Shrimps in recent weeks.
The 21-year-old almost left the club last summer after enjoying a trial at Gillingham, but is pleased to have stayed put and fought his way back into boss Sammy McIlroy's plans.
He told the Lancashire Evening Post: "I want to stay at Morecambe and we are talking about a new contract.
"I've had a really positive chat with the manager and he has told me that I'm part of his plans.
"I believe I can be the number one goalkeeper at Morecambe and that's my aim.
"I've played in the last eight fixtures and I'm getting more confident every time I play."
