Shrews found it difficult to find a way past Morecambe's 3-5-2 formation that featured three former Shrewsbury players in Dave Artell, Stewart Drummond and Neil Wainwright. "I thought Drummond was outstanding and Artell immense," said McIlroy. "We told the players before the game that with Shrewsbury's outstanding home record we needed to give 100% to get anything and we did. "Some people say they've been surprised by our recent run. I think more accurately they've been shocked. "It's wonderful to come here and go home with something."
