United countered with target man Tim Sills helping on Kevin Nicholson's throw-in before slicing a return pass from strike partner Elliot Benyon wide from the edge of the penalty area. Morecambe scored two minutes after the restart when Jevons crossed to strike partner Paul Mullin, who steered the ball home. United responded with half-time substitute Carlisle swooping to head home at the far post in the 53rd minute from Sills' cross.
