Capaldi set for Shrimps bow

Tony Capaldi could make his Morecambe debut against Southend after joining the club on a free transfer on Thursday. The Northern Ireland defender should go straight into the Shrimps line-up, although he is waiting for international clearance from the Football Association of Wales. McIlroy is boosted by the return of left-back Laurence Wilson after he served a one-match ban during last weekend's 1-1 draw with Chesterfield. Yet striker Phil Jevons is set for another week on the sidelines after suffering a head injury against Oxford a fortnight ago. Paul Mullin is likely to stay up front and Scott Brown, who scored on his debut last week, is set to keep his place in midfield as the Shrimps go in search of their first win of the season.
