Blinkhorn blow for Shrimps

Morecambe striker Matthew Blinkhorn faces a month out of action after being forced to have a cartilage operation. The 23-year-old former Blackpool forward opted to have surgery after complaining of being in pain in recent weeks. Shrimps' physio Dave Edge said: "He's played with the problem for about 18 months but it's now become painful and a small operation was needed to clear the problem." Blinkhorn has found the net 19 times in 67 appearances for Sammy McIlroy's side since moving to Christie Park, initially on loan, in March 2007.
