Bentley pens Shrimps deal

Morecambe captain Jim Bentley has agreed a new contract with the Shrimps that will keep him at Christie Park until the end of the 2010-11 campaign.

The 32-year-old has been with the club for over six years, making more than 250 first-team appearances for the League two side.

Vice-chairman Graham Hodgson is delighted with the news, telling the club's official website: "Jim's been a wonderful servant for the club since he's been here and we're delighted that he's agreed to stay for an extra two years.

"He's an inspirational character and a born leader who has really made his mark at the club.''
